Staff Spotlight: Emily Francis
Workflow Analyst
We’re highlighting a team member that helps Facilities Management (FM) manage the hundreds of work tasks we receive every day: Emily Francis! Emily has worked as a Workflow Analyst at FM since 2019, and has had a remarkable impact!
In her role, Emily supports the electrical, mechanical, plumbing, steam, night operations, and structural shops with managing work tasks. She makes sure that all of the work tasks submitted have the correct criteria and have been distributed to the correct shops to handle the issue. She also ensures that funding and account numbers are accurate. With all of this information, Emily creates reports to discover insights into how the shops are operating!
Before starting as a Workflow Analyst, Emily actually worked in our Customer Experience Center! She started as a customer support representative and then was promoted to supervisor. She then moved to the facilities service desk at Student Housing and Dining Services for about a year before coming back to FM!
Emily’s favorite part of her job are the people she works with! She says they make coming to work every day worth it. Emily loves collaborating with all different roles in FM, from technicians to senior management! She says the FM team is a really strong group of people, and has been really grateful to see how the department has evolved during her time here.
Though she says trying to manage the many databases we use can sometimes be challenging, Emily loves the fast paced environment here at FM. She appreciates that every work task and situation is different - even the more routine tasks always have nuance! She also loves being able to learn new things about our campus, systems, and staff. Emily says she learns something new every day!
When she’s not working hard to support our shops, Emily loves to travel! Her favorite destination is Hawaii, and she also loves visiting Las Vegas and NYC. Thank you so much for everything you do, Emily!
